Certificate of Proficiency in Digital Imaging

Digital Media - Fine Arts

This course of study is designed to prepare the returning professional artist for digital applications in two-dimensional fine art. Instruction develops the computer imaging skills necessary for personal expression in the form of digital drawings, paintings, prints, and photographs. Study includes the creative use of digital equipment: computers, scanners, digitizing tablets, various printers and other hardware. Instruction extends traditional drawing and visualization skills to mastery of computer technology and software. The purpose of this certificate is to provide students with expertise in the new tools made available by the computer. Graduates will be prepared to continue advanced study or career directions as two-dimensional artists. Inventive expression, fluency in electronic tools, and commitment to the arts discipline through digital tools are stressed.
